I registered a new domain today. Uh ohβ¦ π
I added over 200 blogs to my RSS feed reader today. It was wonderful!
Even craft communities like crochet are having to warn their members about AI-generated fakes and the risks. Madness. gorgeouscrafts.co.uk/how-to-sp…
A tale of bad UX, in 1 screenshot. I thought I’d try out Marvel Unlimited for the first time in ~10 years, and hot-damn it’s garbage software. Nothing consistently worked - not on my desktop, nor on iOS. I subscribed and then cancelled in just 8 minutes because it was so frustrating!
An hour and a half in the “Live Chat” to my phone provider this morning. I wanted to cancel the plan used by my Apple Watch, as I don’t really need it. Thanks to perseverance, I ended up saving the cost of that plan and more, coming out of it cutting the overall cost of my bill in more than half π₯³
My partner and I give each other the gift of not having to buy for each other at Christmas. If we want something, we buy it for ourselves. No stress about budgets or getting the “right” gift. It all gets wrapped and goes under the tree, so the experience is largely the same. We highly recommend it.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about this year, and honestly, I’m thinking I might just “re-gift” myself something I already have but haven’t had time to enjoy yet.
Finished reading: Yndrasta: The Celestial Spear by Noah Van Nguyen π
New Doctor Who was great, and as a bonus, Iβve not had to endure to having any Raging Gammon Takes shoved into my timelines. Leaving Twitter entirely was definitely the right choice.
I’m going to try 3D printing some pieces in resin tomorrow, for the first time since April(ish). I’m sure it will go 100% successfully and without any frustrations or mishapsβ¦ π¬

Windows Copilot somewhat making up for the fact there isn’t a quick toggle/shortcut to enable Dark Mode in Windowsβ¦ (this is literally all I’ve used it for, so far)
Everything I know about Elon Musk is increasingly against my will.
Dear me, what on earth did they do to Thunderbird?! I was hoping to use it (for the first time in years) to access my MBOX exports locally, but it’s garbage compared to what it used to be π«
I’m switching email providers, which is fine for the majority of stuff as it’s on my own domain, but at some point I was using the old provider’s free address for logins - meaning I have to go through and update around 40 sites with a new email. Let me tell you: some sites don’t make it easy!
Hobby-related things I want to complete by summer 2024:
- Finish my Cities of Sigmar army boxset.
- Build + paint the Stormcast Eternals army that’s been in my head for ages.
- Finish the 2 Combat Patrols already on my desk and at various stages of completion.
Hobby-related goals I want to do between now and the end of 2024:
- Paint all of my space marine miniatures. Yes, all of them. There’s a lot.
- Paint 5 Combat Patrols.
- Paint at least half my Infinity backlog.
- Paint my Old World Dark Elves
- Play some games
- Restart my hobby blog
Loki has become the most well-rounded and compelling character in the MCU, and it isnβt even close anymore. πΊ
One goal for the next few weeks/early next year - restart my hobby blog, probably on https://micro.blog for the ease of posting from the app + all of the cross-posting support.
Posting to a blog then have it go to Bluesky/the Fediverse is the ideal, rather than post to multiple places manually.
New World of Warcraft expansion announcement got me looking at new PCs, because thereβs no way my (otherwise quite capable) laptop will run it at any sort of decent quality/framerate π«
Hot damn, Blizzard are really, really, good at World of Warcraft trailers
